About Our Cause
Child Crisis Arizona
Child Crisis Arizona is committed to preventing child abuse and neglect. We accomplish this by supporting and strengthening families through education and intervention, by providing a safe environment for children to heal, and by recruiting, training and supporting foster and adoptive families.
Charity Navigator, America’s largest charity evaluator, has given Child Crisis Arizona a 4-star rating for the second consecutive year. Only 19% of nonprofits nationwide have received this designation.
Dear FIT Committee and Participants,
Child Crisis Arizona is thrilled to collaborate with the Fiesta Invitational Tournament (FIT), which has raised more than $1.3 million for Child Crisis Arizona and other children’s charities.
Every day, Child Crisis Arizona strives to achieve our vision of Safe Kids…Strong Families. It is because of our community of supporters, our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers, that we are able to serve Arizona’s most vulnerable children and families.
Currently, in the state of Arizona, there are nearly 16,000 children in out-of-home care. The reality is that our preventative services are more necessary than ever. We are working to expand those services to support the needs of our community.
We know that it is in part because of events, like the Fiesta Invitational Tournament, that we have been able to expand our programs as much as we have. The FIT has provided many generous items to our agency including appliances to shade over the playgrounds at our Emergency Children’s Shelters as well as beds, couches and ice machines.
For those items, and for your incredible efforts throughout the years, we thank you! On behalf of our professional staff, board of directors, volunteers and the families and children we serve, thank you, because without you we could not help as many people as we do.

Past Charities Supported
Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona
Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona uses the healing powers of the arts to help abused, homeless, and foster care children build resiliency and learn to trust and heal. We utilize the arts and proven youth development methods to deliver a model that we call “Art with Intention.” Each program is thoughtfully planned to include specific elements that promote safety, self-expression and a sense of belonging. Each year, Free Arts’ 14 staff members work with more than 800 volunteers and professional artists to impact over 7,300 children at 35 child welfare partner agencies.
Since 1993, Free Arts has used the creative arts to help more than 95,000 children. To learn more about Free Arts, visit freeartsaz.org.

“In the true spirit of making our community a better place to live the Fiesta Invitational Tournament excels at helping charities meet their mission. Because of the success of this tournament Gabriel’s Angels has provided pet therapy intervention to 375 at-risk youth in Arizona. We so very much appreciate your support!” – Pam Gaber, Founder and CEO – Gabriel’s Angels
Gabriel’s Angels is the only program in Arizona that delivers healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at-risk children. Our short-term goal is to instill in children an overall emotional sense of well-being, safety, and happiness. Long term aspiration is to help children learn core social skills that will prevent them from continuing the cycle of violence as adults.
Presently we provide pet therapy services to over 115 agencies and serve 13,000 children annually through nearly 155 Pet Therapy Teams. Our services are provided free of charge to the agency and the children. Gabriel’s Angels pet therapy services are provided by volunteer Pet Therapy Teams, usually consisting of a companion dog and owner. Teams visit each participating agency on a consistent schedule to build trust, empathy, and respect in the children. Gabriel’s Angels' future vision is to add 170 Pet Therapy Teams reaching an additional 10,000 children in Arizona. The cost to support one therapy team is $2,500 annually.
